Attractions

  • Trillium Lake Campground – located 2mi. north of the chalet, in the Mt. Hood National Forest at 3,600 feet of elevation. Recognized for its stunning scenery and recreational opportunities. Boating, fishing and swimming are popular activities at this lakeshore campground. Visit this link for more info

    If Trillium Lake is full, Still Creek Campground is a nearby choice. It is ~ 2 miles away, approximately 1 mile away on Hwy 26, approximately 1 mile east of Government Camp.

  • Timberline Ski Area – Timberline is the quintessential ski lodge offering year-round skiing and the highest vertical drop in the northwest. Ski and snowboard teams from around the world, including the US Olympic team can also be seen on Mt. Hood for summer workouts.
  • Mt. Hood SkiBowl – America's largest night skiing area is just a short walk away and provides a scenic backdrop for the the chalet.
  • SkiBowl Mountain Bike Park – The Cascade's only NORBA sanctioned mountain bike center, offering miles of challenging mountain bike terrain.
  • Mt. Hood Meadows – The largest ski area on Mt. Hood, Meadows features over 2,100 acres of diverse skiing terrain.
  • Summit Ski Area – This small, family-oriented area is just one mile from the chalet, and features easy terrain and short lift lines. Ideal for beginners or sledding.
  • Wildwood Park – Located nearby on Highway 26, this seasonal park provides picnic and recreational facilities, plus a trail network.
  • The Resort at the Mountain Golf Course – Just 15 minutes away in nearby Welches, this "Three Nines" course is often playable year-round.
